The suspect who crashed a car into Temple Israel, in the state of Michigan, had lost four family members in an Israeli air raid in his home country, Lebanon, last week.
The attack occurred this Thursday, when the man in the suburbs of West Bloomfield in the Detroit area.
O suspect ended up dying in a shootout with temple security, but none of the synagogue staff, teachers or the 140 children at the early childhood education center were injured.
The suspect was later identified by authorities as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali41 years old, born in Lebanon and naturalized American citizen.
According to the citing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sources, the man, a resident of the city of Dearborn Heights, He entered the United States in 2011 and became a US citizen five years later, in 2016.
