Norwegian court decides on custody: Three brothers and mother arrested on suspicion of bomb attack on the United States embassy

Three brothers and their mother have been taken into police custody in Norway for up to four weeks on suspicion of involvement in last week’s bombing of the United States Embassy in Oslo. the local court announced on Friday. TASR informs about it according to a Reuters report.

The explosion occurred on Sunday at approximately 01:00 CET at the entrance to the consular part of the American embassy. The explosion of the home-made explosive device did not injure anyone and caused only minor material damage. The police do not rule out a possible link between the attack and the war in the Middle East.

Police prosecutor Christian Hatlo stated at a press conference on Wednesday, that the suspected brothers are Norwegian citizens of Iraqi origin and were detained in Oslo. One of them confessed to planting the device, three other suspects denied their involvement.
