On his social network, the president cited China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom to send warships to the area
The President of the United States, (Republican Party), used his social network this Saturday (March 14, 2026) to ask that oil-dependent nations in the Middle East take responsibility for security in the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump said protecting the route must be a joint effort between countries that use logistics in the region. The North American stated that Washington will offer support to the nations.
“The United States of America has completely defeated and destroyed Iran, militarily, economically and in every other way, but the countries of the world that receive oil through the Strait of Hormuz must take care of this passage, and we will help — A LOT!”, published the republican in Truth Social.
The North American president China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom as economies that should send warships to the area.
In a threatening tone, the US chief executive also stated that the US could bomb the Iranian coast and the oil infrastructure on the island of Kharg – the terminal responsible for around 90% of the country’s exports – if attacks on vessels are not stopped.
The Strait of Hormuz concentrates 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas traffic and has faced maritime flow and rising fuel prices since the beginning of the conflict between the USA, Israel and Iran on February 28.
In response, the Iranian government announced this Saturday (14 March) that attacks on its energy network will trigger retaliation against installations of foreign companies that cooperate with Washington in the region.
