The former president () remains clinically stable and showed improvement in his kidney function, according to a medical bulletin released this Sunday (15) by the DF Star hospital, where he has been admitted since Friday (13) to treat pneumonia in both lungs.
Despite the improvement, doctors report that the former president’s inflammatory markers are elevated, which led to expanded antibiotic coverage.
Bolsonaro remains in the ICU of the DF Star hospital to treat a , caused by bronchoaspiration, with no expected discharge.
“[Bolsonaro] It evolved with clinical stability and improvement in renal function, but with a new increase in inflammatory markers in the blood. As a result of these changes, there was a need to expand antibiotic coverage. It continues with intensive clinical support and intensification of respiratory and motor physiotherapy”, says the bulletin.
The former president was taken to the hospital after feeling ill in Papudinha, where he has been detained since January. A follow-up report made on Thursday (12), the day before Bolsonaro was transferred to the hospital, stated that he was in a regular state of health.
At 6:45 am on Friday, medical teams were called by agents because Bolsonaro said he began to experience nausea and tremors during the early hours of the morning. He had a fever and chills.
The medical team understood that immediate transfer to the hospital was necessary. According to Flávio, “the police acted as they should in an emergency”.
The former president arrived at DF Star with nasal oxygen support and underwent tomography and laboratory tests.
