Two men were arrested this Sunday morning (15), after steal two motorcycles on Rodovia Raposo Tavares, at km 37, in Cotia.
According to the Military Police, the suspects used a large motorcycle when they approached a couple and stole the victims’ motorcycles, also large. However, they were surprised by the presence of police teams and tried to flee, giving rise to a brief chase.
During the escape, the suspects abandoned the two motorcycles on the side of the highway and entered a forested area near Animália Parque.
With support from the Highway Police, the Águia 13 helicopter and teams from the COE (Special Operations Command), a siege was carried out in the region. One of the suspects was located hiding in a residence on Rua da Ponte, while after searching the wooded area.
A 9mm pistol and ballistic vests were seized from the individuals. During the escape attempt, the criminals also approached the owner of another vehicle,
The motorcycle used by the suspects in the action was listed as , in the city of Mairinque.
One of the prisoners was also wanted by the courts for the crime of robbery. The case was registered at the Cotia Central Police Station.
