Governor of MA uses Lula’s jingle to promote his nephew – 03/15/2026 – Panel

The governor of Maranhão, Carlos Brandão (no party), adapted a catchphrase in support of , the well-known “olê, olê, olê, olá, Lula, Lula”, to try to boost the candidacy of his nephew Orleans Brandão (MDB) for his succession in the state.

while the local PT is still divided between the mayor of São Luís, Eduardo Braide (PSD), and the vice-governor Felipe Camarão (PT) as a candidate for government.

“Olê, olê, olê, Orleans”, says the jingle, published by Brandão on his social networks.

At the pre-launch ceremony, this Saturday (14), in São Luís, there were also images of Lula together with Brandão and Orleans on the screen and on flags.

as to Sheet showed, this Friday, Lula and his organizers tried to reach an agreement with Brandão to build the candidacy of a third name that was not Orleans or Camarão.

Members of the PT, Palácio do Planalto and even Brandão’s government claim that there was an agreement for the governor to leave office in April to run for the Senate. Thus, the PT vice president would take over and compete for the government in office.

The governor, however, announced that he will fulfill his mandate until the end and denies breaking a commitment. “There was never this agreement to support Felipe Camarão,” he told Sheet.

Brandão was Dino’s deputy, took office in April 2022 and was re-elected in October of that year. Throughout the term, however, Brandão and Dino grew apart.
