Hungary and Slovakia will build a direct connection of oil refineries in Bratislava and Százhalombatta, thereby limiting the extortion potential of the Ukrainian leadership. According to the MTI agency, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said this in Brussels on Monday. reports the correspondent of TASR in Budapest.
The head of Hungarian diplomacy announced at a press conference after the meeting of the EU Council for Foreign Affairs that during the day he signed an important agreement with the Slovak Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova, on the basis of which both countries will build a new pipeline connecting the oil refineries in Bratislava and Száhalombatta.
“It will be a 127-kilometer long product pipeline. It will be able to transport 1.5 million tons of oil products, diesel, gasoline, and this will represent another added value for Hungarian energy supply, Hungarian diesel supply, and can protect against the consequences of wars that are in the world and the wrong policy of Brussels.” said Szijjártó.
“The product pipeline will be ready in the first half of next year. By connecting the oil refineries in Bratislava and Száhalombatta with the possibility of direct transportation of diesel and gasoline between them, Hungary and Slovakia will be much more protected from blackmail, such as we are now experiencing from the Ukrainians with the support of Berlin and Brussels.” emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
