Trump rules out the possibility of the conflict in the Middle East ending this week

This Monday, North American President Donald Trump ruled out the possibility of the conflict in the Middle East ending this week, limiting himself to reiterating that this will happen “soon”.

“I don’t believe [que a guerra termine esta semana]but it will be soon. It won’t be long before we have a much safer world“, replied Trump at the White House, asked by the press about the duration of the conflict that began on February 28, which caused severe disruptions in global energy markets.

Trump reiterated that the ongoing military operationcalled ‘Epic Fury’ by the Pentagon, allowed the decimation of the navy, the air force and even the Iranian leadership.

“In just two weeks, we decimated them. They no longer have a navy; they no longer have an air force. They have no leadership. Their ruling elite has disappeared”, he emphasized.

Insisting on the need for the offensive to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon, Trump argued that the American attack “prevented a Third World War.”

“I had an obligation to do this. I didn’t want to do it. If we hadn’t acted, a war would have started and absolutely nothing would have survived,” argued the American president.

The Trump administration claims the objective of the offensive is destroy Iran’s missile program and its ability to manufacture a nuclear weapon, but it did not present a clear timetable or define the duration of the conflict, which was initially estimated at between four and five weeks.

Last week, the President had already declared that the war is “practically over” because Iran’s military capabilities are at a minimum.

Among the victims are the Iranian supreme leader, the ‘ayatollah’ as well as several ministers and senior officials of the Iranian armed forces.

In response, Tehran launched missiles and drones against Israel and US military bases iinstalled in Middle Eastern countries.

The US armed forces reported this Monday that 200 soldiers were injured, in seven different countries, in the conflict in the Middle East, of which 180 have already returned to service.

The spokesman for the Central Command of US forces responsible for the Middle East, said that 10 injuries are considered serious.

The injuries were recorded in attacks in Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan.
