The Argentine government formalized, this Tuesday (17), its exit from the World Health Organization (WHO)a decision announced a year ago, informed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pablo Quirno.

Just like the White House when announcing its departure from the organization, the Argentine government criticized the WHO’s performance in combating the covid-19 pandemic. Argentina declared last year that “WHO recommendations do not work because they are based on political interests, not science.”

Argentina “will continue to promote international cooperation in health through bilateral agreements and regional forums, fully preserving its sovereignty and its ability to make decisions on health policies”, said Quirno this Tuesday at X.

Milei’s government announced the decision a year ago and concluded the process within the deadlines stipulated by international treaties, specified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
