Most NATO countries have refused to participate in the American operation against Iran, although they agree with the intervention. Trump declares that the US no longer needs the help of allies.
Most of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) have informed the United States that they do not want to participate in the US military operation against the regime in Iran, despite the fact that almost all countries have unequivocally agreed with the intervention and its objectives. US President Donald Trump announced this on Tuesday, saying that the US no longer needs or wants help from its allies for its successes. TASR informs about it.
- The majority of NATO member countries refused to participate in the American operation against Iran.
- Donald Trump called NATO a one-way street where America only provides protection.
According to Trump, he has always considered NATO “a one-way street – we will protect them, but they will do nothing for us, especially in times of need,” he said on his Truth Social network. He was said to be therefore not surprised that the “allies” of the US, as he called them in the post, do not want to participate in the operation against Iran, although, according to him, they agreed with the US approach and also with the fact that Iran must not be allowed to have nuclear weapons.
US achievements in Iran
“Fortunately, we have almost completely destroyed Iran’s military – their navy is gone, their air force is gone, their anti-aircraft defenses and radars are gone, and perhaps most importantly, their leaders at virtually every level are gone and will never again threaten us, our allies in the Middle East, or the world!,” the Republican president wrote.
And precisely because of these military successes, according to Trump, the USA no longer “needs” or requests the help of NATO countries. “WE’VE NEVER NEEDED IT! The same goes for Japan, Australia, or South Korea. The truth is – speaking as the President of the United States of America, by far the most powerful country in the world – WE DON’T NEED HELP FROM ANYONE!” emphasized Trump.
Criticism of the future of NATO
The head of the White House already declared on Sunday that NATO faces a “very bad” future if the US allies do not help solve the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, where the ongoing war has significantly disrupted traffic.
