Tragedy in Vienna: Four people lost their lives! Dramatic details of the disaster

Four people lost their lives on Tuesday in the Austrian capital of Vienna, where part of the scaffolding collapsed during construction work. One person suffered serious injuries, reports TASR with reference to the APA agency.

The accident happened on the street Porzellangasse in the ninth district of Vienna Alsergrund during concrete work carried out as part of the attic reconstruction. At approximately 2:30 p.m., part of the scaffolding and formwork, as well as large pieces of concrete, collapsed into the yard of the old renovated house.

There were five people on this part of the scaffolding at the time. After approximately 90 minutes, rescuers found a seriously injured person – a 45-year-old man with serious head and spine injuries, as well as broken arms. It later emerged that four more people had died. The police and the labor inspectorate will interview witnesses to the accident, including the crane operator who had to stay in the cabin for three hours. The surviving worker will also be interviewed as soon as his condition permits.
