Escort advertising platform states that the contract remains in force and defends the legality of the commercial action
Escort advertising platform Fatal Model has stated that it will not stop advertising at the Maracanã Stadium. The decision is a response to a letter from the office of state deputy Alexandre Knoploch (PL-RJ), who had questioned the advertisements shown in the final of the Campeonato Carioca, on March 8, International Women’s Day.
At the time, Knoploch declared on his social networks that the advertising was “immoral” and “illegal”, alleging non-compliance with the ECA (Child and Adolescent Statute). The event also led to inspection by the State Secretariat for Consumer Protection of Rio and Procon-RJ, whose bodies concluded that the advertisements on LED panels violate state law 10.613/2024 – standard of December 2024 that prohibits the advertising of adult services in public places with high circulation.
In response, the escort platform, created in 2016, stated that its operations follow current laws and that it does not intend to remove the advertisements.
Fatal Model argued that the Rio de Janeiro law invades the Union’s jurisdiction. According to the company, the Federal Constitution assigns the federal government the role of legislating on commercial advertising.
The company cited a decision from the Public Ministry of Bahia. In 2024, the 7th Child and Youth Prosecutor’s Office of Salvador rejected a representation against the brand. The body concluded that sports sponsorships did not violate the rights of children and adolescents.
Fatal Model also stated that the restriction undermines legitimate contracts with clubs and arenas. He said that the end of advertising causes financial losses to the organizers. He stated that he will take legal action to challenge the validity of the law in court.
