Esmail Khatib’s death adds to that of the head of Iranian Security, Ali Larijani, confirmed on Tuesday (17) by Tehran authorities
Israel’s Defense Minister stated, this Wednesday (18), that the country’s Army killed Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib. “Last night, Iran’s Intelligence Minister Khatib was also eliminated,” Minister Israel Katz said in a statement.
A, Ali Larijani, confirmed on Tuesday (17) by Tehran authorities.
The US State Department had offered a $10 million reward by information about the new Iranian supreme leaderMojtaba Khamenei, and other high-ranking officials, including Khatib.
“The intensity of attacks in Iran is rising. We are in the midst of a decisive step,” Katz said in his statement.
Katz also explained that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had authorized the military to attack “any high-ranking Iranian official for whom the circle of intelligence and operations has been closed, without the need for additional approval.” “We will continue hunting them all,” he added.
“Throughout this day (Wednesday) significant surprises are expected in all areas, which will raise the war we are waging against Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon to a new level,” he added.
In a statement announcing Khatib’s elimination, the Israeli military said he had “played a significant role during the recent protests in Iran, both with regard to the detention and murder of protesters and in shaping the regime’s intelligence assessment.”
“In addition to his activities directed against the State of Israel, Khatib led the Ministry of Intelligence’s terrorist activities against Israeli and American targets around the world,” it added.
