In the early hours of this Wednesday (18), the Federal Highway Police (PRF) recovered a motorcycle reported stolen after the driver was involved in an accident at km 676 of BR-364, near the Liberdade neighborhood, in .
The team was called to respond to the incident involving a black Honda CG 160. The driver had been rescued unconscious and taken to a health unit by emergency teams.
During the investigation, the police identified the person involved and, when consulting the systems, they found that the motorcycle had theft restrictions. The crime had occurred a few hours earlier, on Tuesday afternoon (17), also in Cruzeiro do Sul, when the victim was approached by an armed man.
After receiving medical discharge, the suspect confirmed that he was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Given the evidence, he was detained and taken to the Acre Civil Police for legal proceedings.
The motorcycle and belongings were seized and handed over to the police authority, and must later be returned to the owner.
The PRF highlighted that the action reinforces the constant surveillance work on federal highways, working 24 hours a day to combat crime and promote public safety.
