Francisco Borges tem 13 years old, he practices football, swimming and kickboxing – but it is in books that finds its own space and stands out.
The Portuguese teenager became known for enthusiasm with which he talks about reading and the ability to infect other young people with this taste, to the point that he is now invited by schools to talk to students his age about books and reading habits.

His journey gained visibility when… broke his leg. While recovered at home, and since I didn’t even get out of bed (and since I didn’t have a cell phone), He spent most of his days reading.
At this stage, he read 10 books a day. They even said that it is impossible – but, in short, age-appropriate books, it is not. It wasn’t. He especially likes the works of Geronimo Stilton.
Later, reading continued to be a central activity in his routine.
Francisco reads on the bus, before bed and whenever he can. In normal weeks, it ends 5 books. Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens or William Golding are among the preferences.

And leave one advice: “You need to have the right inspiration for people to start reading. There are people who read a book that is not suitable for them and then end up completely forgetting the taste. They say they don’t like reading books because books are boring and, if you ask them how many books they have read, they say it was just one.”
Young people of the same age listen. Teachers believe that hearing this message from someone your own age can be more effective than hearing it from an adult.
