Moro will join the PL to run for Government of Paraná – 03/18/2026 – Politics

After agreeing to support his candidacy for the Government of Paraná, the senator (-PR) decided, this Wednesday (18), to leave his party and join the party to contest the election. Moro has appeared ahead in polls of voting intentions in the state.

The senator met, this afternoon, with the leadership of the União Brasil-PP federation to decide which party he would run for — the PL had also offered him the party. União Brasil’s tendency was to support Moro’s candidacy, but the senator faces resistance in the PP of Paraná.

The idea, according to the report, is that the vice-president spot on the senator’s ticket will be offered to the federation. The PL also intends to launch deputy Filipe Barros (PL-PR) to the Senate, and the second candidate for senator would be Deltan Dallagnol (Novo-PR).

Earlier this Wednesday, the president of the PL, , met with Moro and declared the PL’s support for the senator’s candidacy, which represented a break with the governor of Paraná, . (PSDB).

As Valdemar stated, the PL’s concern was to guarantee a platform for Flávio in the state, next week.

“We will support Moro. That’s right. […] We’re going to have to unite everyone there so he can win the election in the first round. Otherwise we are dead because of Ratinho”, said Valdemar, shortly before Moro decided to leave União Brasil for PL.

Asked about the break between the PL and Ratinho, Valdemar replied that the governor of Paraná lives in his heart. “But it turns out that he is going to be a candidate for president, so are we going to get zero votes in Paraná? And Moro is there exploding. Maybe, with 22 [na legenda]Moro wins until the election in the first round.”

Last week, Ratinho met with Flávio’s campaign coordinator, senator Rogério Marinho (PL-RN), which would disrupt his succession plans in the state.

The condition set by the PL, however, was to go to the Palácio do Planalto to support Flávio — the governor is even considered as a possible vice-president for the Bolsonaro presidential candidate. But what happened was the opposite: the PSD consolidated the decision to launch Ratinho in the next few days, which accelerated the agreement between the PL and Moro.

Until this Wednesday, there was an agreement for the former president’s party to ally with Ratinho’s candidate in the state, in exchange for Filipe Barros running for the Senate.

The president of the Legislative Assembly, Alexandre Curi (PSDB), is working to be chosen by Ratinho as his successor, but the governor shows preference for the Secretary of Cities, Guto Silva (PSDB).
