Belo Horizonte councilor Pedro Rousseff (PT) filed this Wednesday (18) a representation to the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, asking for an investigation after the national president of , , stated that he expects support from US President Donald Trump for the candidacy of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).

The councilor asks for proceedings to be opened to clarify the nature of the support mentioned by Valdemar and verify possible attempts at foreign interference in the Brazilian electoral process.
In the representation, Rousseff states that the Constitution prohibits parties from receiving resources or subordinating themselves to foreign governments.
He also asks that the PGR initiate an investigative procedure, authorize Valdemar to explain what he said and adopt measures if signs of violation of the legislation are identified.
“It’s absurd for the national president of a party that’s going to run for President to assume, like this, with a straight face, that he expects support from Trump. This is very serious. They’re some giveaways who want to sell Brazil at a bargain price. If there’s foreign interference, they have to stop it before they can,” said the councilor.
