Pre-candidate for President for Missão associates Bolsonarism with crimes and says that his party is the “right that is ashamed of itself”

The coordinator of MBL (Movimento Brasil Livre) and pre-candidate for the Presidency of Missão, Renan Santos, stated this Thursday (19.mar.2026) that the senator considered the main leader of the PL for the 2026 elections, “he’s a thief”.

In an interview with Poder360 After the event that marked the affiliation of the new party, in São Paulo, Renan stated that there is a clear division within the Brazilian right. “Today there is a pro-corruption right, which is Flávio Bolsonaro’s, and there is a right that is ashamed of itself, which is ours”he said. In an even more aggressive tone, he directly accused the senator. “Flávio is a thief, and I’m going to show them that he is a thief”he declared.

Renan Santos also claimed to be superior to the other pre-candidates. “I am a more intelligent person than the other pre-candidates, with a lot of advantage. I am a suitable person, they are not”these.

When asked about the possibility of supporting another right-wing candidate in the 2nd round, he says he does not consider a defeat in the 1st round. “I’m not going to go into a war to lose. I’m going to work just to win”he stated.

The pre-candidate highlighted that his electoral strategy is based on exposure and direct contact with voters, traveling around the country and participating in interviews.

He stated that he already has a strong presence among young people and is betting that he will expand his base as he becomes better known. “The day everyone knows me, I’m going to run over them”he said. In March, one showed that the pre-candidate has 10% of the voting intentions of generation Z (young people between 16 and 24 years old). When taking into account all age groups, however, Missão’s leader does not exceed 3%.

Political trajectory

Renan Santos began his political career in 2014 as one of the founders of the MBL (Movimento Brasil Livre), together with Alexandre Santos, Kim Kataguiri, Frederico Rahu and Gabriel Calamari, in which he led the demonstrations for the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff.

Renan assumed the presidency of the new party and is a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the 2026 elections. For years, he acted as an articulator in alliance negotiations and candidacies of group members in parties such as DEM, Patriota, Podemos and União Brasil. He also coordinated the preparation of the “Yellow Book”, a document that brings together the group’s government proposals for the country.

Missão is the party arm of the MBL (Movimento Brasil Livre), approved by the TSE at the end of 2025 under number 14.
