He spared the mother of a sick child from prison: the President pardoned a woman who had an unauthorized business on a small scale

Prezident SR Peter Pellegrini pardoned a woman who was sentenced to six months in prison for the offense of unauthorized business committed on a small scale and over a long period of time. The condition is that he does not commit an intentional crime for a period of 12 months from the date of the pardon. TASR was informed about this by the communication department of the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic. This is the second pardon granted by Pellegrini.

“The President of the Slovak Republic decided on a conditional pardon in view of extraordinary circumstances related to the fact that the convict is the mother of minor children, one of whom has a long-term adverse health condition and requires increased care.” brought closer by the department of communication.

At the same time, he claims that more than 10 years have passed since the offense was committed and at the moment the convict leads an orderly family life and is not prosecuted. According to the head of state, serving a prison sentence would no longer fulfill its legal purpose, however, it would have a negative impact on minor children, especially a child with a long-term adverse health condition.
