Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister Cristiano Zanin voted to deny the actions calling for the suspension of the São Paulo law that authorized the privatization of the Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo (Sabesp – ). He is the case’s rapporteur. Then, minister Luiz Fux asked for prominence, which transfers the discussion to the physical plenary – still without a date for resumption.
The trial had begun at 11 am this Friday, the 20th, in the virtual plenary.
The topic was the topic of a series of meetings between the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), and court ministers on Wednesday. He met with Zanin, Fux, Gilmar Mendes, Alexandre de Moraes and Edson Fachin.

One of the actions was proposed by PT and the other jointly between PSOL, Rede, PT, PV and PCdoB.
The parties pointed out problems in the company’s privatization process and called for the suspension of the law that authorized privatization.
Zanin did not analyze the merits, but denied the actions for procedural reasons.
