The American actor Chuck Norrisknown for the multiple martial arts films he starred in over the decades and for incorporating ranger Cordell Walker into a television series, died on Thursday in 86 yearsannounced the family.
Norris had been hospitalized in Hawaii on Thursday.

He lived his life with faith, purpose and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved”, can be read in the statement published on the actor’s official social media accounts.
Born in 1940, in Ryan, Oklahoma, with the name Carlos Ray Norris“Chuck” excelled in martial arts before becoming an actor. He served in the United States Air Force, where he began combat training. Later, he won several titles in karate and founded his own school, having even trained Hollywood celebrities.
No cinemabecame known mainly from the 1970s and 1980s, in action films such as Way of the Dragonalongside Bruce Lee, and in Missing in Action. His image as a hero was further consolidated with the television series Walker, Texas Rangershown in the 1990s, where he played a ranger with a thirst for justice.
Chuck Norris was also involved in educational and religious causes and published books. The “tough” image has inspired countless memes and jokes on the Internet over the years, but Norris continues to be remembered as a reference in action cinema and martial arts.
