Octopus folar festival arrives in Fuzeta with flavors from the Ria Formosa [vídeo]

The village of Fuzeta, in the municipality of Olhão, is preparing to host, on April 4th, the Festival Polva 2026 – Festival do Folar de Polvo da Fuzeta, an unprecedented event dedicated to this gastronomic product.

The initiative, organized by the KlubeSol Association, promises to establish itself as a new cultural and gastronomic proposal in the region. According to the organization, this is the “first festival in Portugal dedicated to Folar de Polvo com Salicórnia da Ria Formosa”.

The event takes place from 3pm, in the riverside area of ​​Fuzeta, and aims to “awaken curiosity at a national level”, bringing together residents and visitors around local identity.

Tradition and innovation at the table

The festival highlights a unique combination of flavors, which combines fresh octopus from the Ria Formosa with wild salicornia, known as the “green salt of the sea”.

According to the organization, Folar de Polvo com Salicórnia translates “a fusion between tradition and innovation”, reflecting the knowledge of local communities and the natural wealth of the region.

The gastronomic proposal aims to position Fuzeta as a destination for differentiating experiences, valuing endogenous products.

Music, crafts and animation

In addition to the gastronomic component, the event includes a diverse entertainment program.

Live music moments are planned with Beira Mar, DJ Joni and Toi Picoito, as well as local craft spaces and activities aimed at all ages, promoting community interaction.

The chosen setting, next to the Ria Formosa, reinforces the festival’s connection with one of the most important natural ecosystems in the country.

Valorization of the territory

The Polva 2026 Festival aims to strengthen the connection between the community and its natural and cultural heritage.

According to , the objective is to “promote local products and boost the territory through differentiating events”, contributing to the enhancement of regional identity.

The organization also highlights its ambition to affirm the event as a gastronomic and cultural reference in the Algarve.
