A video recorded by witnesses shows the moment when a driverless truck invaded the side of a restaurant on the banks of BR-040, in João Pinheiro, in the Northwest of Minas Gerais. According to the Fire Department, the truck was parked on Avenida José Rabelo de Souza when, for reasons that are yet to be investigated, it began to move alone. The vehicle went down the road, gained speed and only stopped after colliding with the building where the Caçapa Restaurant and Pizzeria operates.
The impact occurred around 8 pm. The military was called shortly afterwards to respond to the incident and ensure the safety of the location.
Images from the moment of the collision show the people’s despair that were close to the establishment. In the video, it is possible to notice the shock of those who noticed the approach of the out-of-control trailer before the crash.
So far, there is no information about what caused the mechanical failure or accidental displacement of the vehicle.
