An action by resulted in the seizure of ammunition and more than two kilos of drugs during a police checkpoint carried out this Saturday (21), on BR-364, in the stretch between Sena Madureira and Rio Branco. The incidents, despite being distinct, have things in common: both involved women who were traveling in different taxis and were approached during the inspection.
In the first approach, the police intercepted a passenger who was carrying 200 ammunition, 50 of which were a 9 mm pistol and 150 were a .38 caliber revolver. The suspect was arrested red-handed at the scene. In the second incident, another woman was detained after the military found 2,076 kilos of marijuana hidden inside the vehicle in which she was traveling. The drug was seized and sent along with the suspect.

According to the Military Police, the two actions are part of a strategy to reinforce the inspection of BR-364, considered one of the main circulation routes in the state and frequently used to transport illicit materials between municipalities.
The suspects were taken to the Sena Madureira police station, where they remain at the disposal of the courts. All seized material was also forwarded to legal proceedings.
Fighting crime on highways
The intensification of police barriers on BR-364 has been one of the security forces’ main strategies to curb drug trafficking and the illegal transportation of weapons within Acre. Integrated work between overt policing has allowed for more effective approaches, increasing the number of apprehensions.
Cases like this reinforce the importance of preventive actions on highways, especially in sections that connect strategic cities such as Sena Madureira and Rio Branco, which are frequently monitored by public security bodies.
