Iranian media reported this Saturday that a passenger ship was hit and caught fire on the island of Kharg, southwest of Iran, following an attack attributed to the United States and Israel, carried out yesterday.
According to the Tasnim agency, linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the ship ‘Permisa’ was attacked while it was docked at the Pearl dock on the island, coinciding with the beginning of the Persian new year, Noruz, which was celebrated yesterday at 6:15 p.m. local time (2:45 p.m. GMT).
According to the media, at the time of the attack there were no people on board the boat, which covered the route between Jarg and the port of Ganaveh and had the capacity to transport about 350 passengers each way.
