After being the target of heavy criticism for alleged harsh treatment against Flamengo player Jorginho’s daughter, the American singer Chappell Roan used her Stories on Instagram to present her version of the facts and try to seal peace. “I didn’t even see the child”, said the artist directly from her bed and in a calm tone of voice. The video was published this Sunday (22).

According to Chappell Roan, the misunderstanding did not come from your order. The singer, who recently made headlines for asking fans for limits and privacy, surprised by adopting an empathetic and defensive stance towards the player’s family.

“I’m going to tell my version of the story. I didn’t even see the mother and the child. Nobody came to me and nobody bothered me”, said the artist.

According to the singer, the security guard involved was not part of his personal team. Chappell suggested that the intervention was an initiative isolated from the security of the site or third parties, classifying the attitude as unfair. “It is unfair for security to assume that a person does not have good intentions”, he pointed out. She reinforced that she doesn’t “hate children” and that the scenario described by Jorginho made her sad.

“I apologize to the mother and child that someone assumed you would do something. If you felt uncomfortable, it makes me very sad. You didn’t deserve this”, concluded the voice of “Good Luck, Babe!”.

Remember the case

A The confusion began on Saturday (21) during breakfast at a luxury hotel in São Paulo, where Chappell was staying for her performance at Lollapalooza Brasil. According to Jorginho’s report, his wife, Catherine Harding, and the 11-year-old child (actor Jude Law’s biological daughter) were there when the child recognized the artist. THE player stated that the girl just smiled from a distance, but was approached in an “aggressive and disproportionate” way by a security guard, who accused her of harassment and disrespect, bringing her to tears.

The player’s reaction was immediate and harsh, even declaring that “without the fans, she [Chappell] I wouldn’t be anyone.”
