United States President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday (23) that the US had strong conversations with Iran and stated that the two sides have “important points of agreement”.
Earlier, the US president said that a deal with Iran could be reached “in five days or less” and that the Persian country “very much wants to reach an agreement”.
In a brief telephone interview with presenter Maria Bartiromo, on Fox Business, the Republican stated that negotiations on an agreement with Tehran took place on Sunday night (22) and included the participation of envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff and their counterparts.
Asked about Iranian media reports that dialogues between the countries did not take place, Trump replied that “it is difficult to get information there, as we are bombing a large part of their structure”.
Earlier, the US president announced a five-day pause in military strikes against Iran’s power plants and energy infrastructure amid “very good and productive” talks.
