One shooting attack in several locations in Israel left at least a dead e five injured this Sunday (7). According to the Magen David Adom emergency service, the fatal victim is a man aged approximately 35 years. Among the survivors sent to hospitals, two remain in serious condition e three have moderate injuries.
Security forces located a suspicious vehicle and shot down one of the alleged attackers near the town of Kokhav Yair, a few kilometers from the occupied West Bank. Rescue teams reported that the raids also hit the neighboring communities of Tzur Natan and Tzur Yitzhak. The Israeli Army confirmed the death of one of the perpetrators and reported that the searches continue to capture a second suspect.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, in a statement, that he carried out an assessment of the situation and is monitoring developments in the case. The episode generated a strong reaction from the Minister of National Security, the ultra-Orthodox Itamar Ben Gvir, who advocated immediate execution of anyone captured alive.
In a post on the social network X, Ben Gvir alluded to the recently approved Israeli law that imposes the death penalty on those convicted of terrorism in lethal attacks against the country. “Jewish blood is not cheap. Whoever murders a Jew will face the gallows”, declared the minister.
