Dario Durigan announces Rogério Ceron as the new executive secretary of Finance

The Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, announced this Monday (23), via the social network X, that Rogério Ceron is the new executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance. “I trust in your ability to deliver, and I highlight that your work at the head of the Treasury was fundamental in moving forward with our agenda in recent years”, wrote the minister.

Rogério Ceron de Oliveira was secretary of the National Treasury during Fernando Haddad’s tenure in the ministry. Daniel Leal takes over Ceron’s former position, who was previously undersecretary for Public Debt.

As deputy executive secretary, Durigan informed that the USP professor and specialist in public policies, Úrsula Peres, takes office.

Durigan also reported in the publication that Fábio Terra will be his chief of staff and Flavia Renó his special advisor. Mathias Alencastro will take over the Secretary of International Affairs (SAIN) and Daniele Cardoso will be in charge of the Secretary of Prizes and Bets (SPA).

The new Finance Minister also said that everyone is committed to their new positions. “Nobody does anything alone. We are a serious, united and technical Ministry. Women and men committed to making a difference every day, working for the prosperity of Brazilian families”, he concluded.

Durigan as Minister of Finance

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) officially announced the departure of Fernando Haddad from command of the Ministry of Finance and nomeou Dario Carnevalli Durigan for the position. The decree was published in the Official Gazette on Friday (20).

The announcement had already been anticipated by the president on Thursday (19), during participation in the 17th Federative Caravan, in São Paulo. “I want to congratulate comrade Dario Durigan. He will be Haddad’s replacement at the Ministry of Finance”, he declared, mentioning the Haddad’s pre-candidacy for the São Paulo government.

We racks, Durigan was already seen as the natural name for the succession. He has already served as executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance since 2023, occupying the position of “number two” on the economic team after the departure of Gabriel Galípolo, who was appointed president of the Central Bank.
