New No. 2 in the economy leaves the National Treasury after 3 years; Daniel Leal assumes his position and Úrsula Peres will be deputy
The Minister of Finance, appointed this Monday (23 March 2026) Rogério Ceron to the position of executive secretary, the 2nd most important position in the department. Ceron occupied the since January 2023.
With the change, Daniel Leal takes command of the National Treasury. He held the Undersecretariat for Public Debt.
On his official profile on X, Durigan trust in its delivery capacity. “Your work at Treasury was essential to moving forward with our recent agenda”he stated.
The minister promoted a broader restructuring of the economic team. The teacher at (University of São Paulo), Úrsula Peres, was appointed to the position of deputy executive secretary. Fábio Terra will take over as chief of staff and Flávia Renó will occupy the role of special advisor.
The Executive Secretariat coordinates the actions of the other departments of the Ministry of Finance. The position reports directly to the minister and oversees the implementation of the ministry’s economic policies.
