Iran will resume flights from Mashhad International Airport in the northeast of the country on Monday, the country’s Civil Aviation Authority announced. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency.
“A permit has been issued to operate international passenger flights from Mashhad Airport, effective from tomorrow,” state television said, citing the Civil Aviation Authority. The authority later stated that passengers can now purchase tickets for lines from the airport and at the same time to the airport, writes the IRNA news agency.
Iran’s airports shut down at the start of the Middle East war, which was triggered by the US-Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28. The agency said earlier that it would begin gradually opening Iranian airspace, starting with transit flights, followed by flights from airports in eastern Iran. The airports in Tehran – Imam Khomeini and Mehrabad – are scheduled to reopen in the third phase, while airports in the west will only resume operations in the final phase.
