Former Lava Jato judge joins PL, launches pre-candidacy for Paraná and reinforces alignment with Bolsonaros
The senator (PL-PR) launched his pre-candidacy for the government of Paraná and made his affiliation with the PL official this Tuesday (24.mar.2026). The event was attended by the senator and pre-candidate for Planalto (PL-RJ), the party president, Valdemar Costa Neto, the leader of the Opposition in Congress, (PL-RN), as well as other congressmen from the party.
During his speech, Moro suggested that the result of the 2022 presidential elections may not be correct: “He was elected in quotation marks here in Brazil and is on the side of criminals and minimizes crime at all times”.
The senator and former Lava Jato judge also criticized the PT government’s management of the economy. “The economy is disorganized, it is taxes, it is Tax is a tax that suffocates private initiative and sabotages our development. Moro cited the former president (PL) and said he expected him to go under house arrest for a “question of justice”. He stated that it was necessary to beat Lula: “4 years ago I went with your father to the presidential debates. I believed that we needed to defeat Lula, I knew that if Lula won, a shadow would fall over the country and that shadow was worse than I imagined”.
