The government could present a draft for online age verification this week. The goal: Anyone younger than 15 will be banned from social media in the future. But it’s about much more than just protecting young people: Chancellor Christian Stocker (ÖVP) wants to use the project as leverage to push through a long-standing demand of the People’s Party – the end of anonymity on the Internet.
