Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season – 03/24/2026 – Sport

After nine years of goals and titles, Egyptian star Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the current European season, the Premier League club announced this Tuesday (24).

The 33-year-old striker arrived at Anfield from Roma in 2017 and played 435 games for the Reds, in which he scored 255 goals.

“Mohamed Salah will end his illustrious spell at Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season,” the club said in a statement published on its website.

“The striker has reached an agreement with the Reds, which will bring to an end a remarkable nine-year chapter at Anfield. Salah has expressed his desire to make this announcement to the fans as soon as possible, in order to provide transparency regarding his future, out of respect and gratitude to them,” the statement continues.

The ‘Pharaoh’ scored Liverpool’s fourth goal in the 4-0 victory over Galatasaray last week, which secured the team’s place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

In great form, Salah had scored in three of his last four starts after an unusual drought.

The Egyptian, who rarely suffers injuries, seemed to have found his place again after a dispute with coach Arne Slot at the end of 2025, when he was on the bench for several games.

Despite his excellent recent form, Salah found the net just five times in the current edition of the Premier League, compared to the 29 goals he scored in the 2024/25 season, when Liverpool were English champions.
