The medical bulletin of (), 71, confirmed this Thursday (26) that the former president should be discharged from hospital on Friday (27). It has been bacterial in both lungs since March 13th.
According to a statement from the DF Star hospital, Bolsonaro has no signs of acute infection and is in good clinical evolution. “You should remain under clinical surveillance for the next 24 hours, with hospital discharge expected on March 27.”
Doctor Brasil Caiado predicted the ex-president’s discharge in an interview with journalists on Wednesday (25).
The cardiologist stated that an X-ray examination carried out on Tuesday (24) showed that Bolsonaro’s right lung is “practically” normal, while the left still has a “residual lesion”, which was already expected due to the severity of the disease.
According to Caiado, the acute phase of pneumonia has passed and it is now in the so-called convalescence period, when the body recovers. He said that a complete cure for pneumonia could take three to six months.
“Only [não terá alta hospitalar] if there are any complications, but, personally, I believe not,” he said.
“Now there will be intense physiotherapy mechanisms. We have already agreed with the physiotherapist, after discharge, so that all treatment can be carried out at home, disciplined, with a routine and a precise prescription. Nutritionists too. Everyone is already on a transition home schedule”, he declared.
After leaving the health unit, Bolsonaro will go to his home, in the Solar de Brasília condominium, in Jardim Botânico, where he will continue serving a sentence of 27 years and three months in prison for an attempted coup d’état.
The measure on Tuesday by the minister, of the (Supreme Federal Court), for an initial period of 90 days. During the period, Bolsonaro will have to use and will be prohibited from using social media or recording audio or videos.
After the three months have elapsed, “the presence of the necessary requirements for maintaining humanitarian house arrest will be re-analyzed, including medical expertise if necessary.”
