Protests against Trump are expected to bring more than 9 million to the streets of the USA

More than 3,000 protests are expected to take place this Saturday, the 28th, in all 50 US states, in a demonstration against the government of President Donald Trump, mainly in relation to the war in Iran and the actions of the American immigration police, ICE. More than 9 million people are expected across the country.

St. Paul, a city in Minnesota, will be the capital of the movement, which has been called “No Kings” (without kings, in literal translation). The state capital, Minneapolis, was the epicenter of two fatal episodes, in which ICE shot and killed two American citizens.

Organizers said that more than 3,100 demonstrations are expected to take place across the country this Saturday. In St. Paul alone, 100,000 people are expected, including Bruce Springsteen, who will perform “Streets of Minneapolis”, a song he wrote in response to the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and in honor of the thousands of Minnesotans who took to the streets during the American winter.

Singer Joan Baez, actress Jane Fonda, and Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders, as well as a long list of other activists and union leaders, are expected to be part of the movement.

The White House has dismissed the nationwide protests as the product of “leftist funding networks” with little real public support.

“The only people who care about these ‘Trump Deception Therapy Sessions’ are the reporters who are paid to cover them,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said in a statement.

Demonstrations are also planned in more than a dozen other countries, from Europe to Latin America to Australia, Ezra Levin, co-executive director of Indivisible, the group spearheading the events, said in an interview. Countries with constitutional monarchies call the protests “No Tyrants,” he said.

The protests come as Trump’s approval ratings hover around 40%, and Democrats are hopeful of gaining ground in the midterm elections.

The No Kings movement has already organized other protests last year. In June 2025, the same day that Trump scheduled a military parade in Washington to commemorate the Army’s 250th anniversary, planned demonstrations took place in cities across the country and, internationally, in countries including Britain, Mexico and Germany. The event was called “day of resistance” against what was seen as an abuse of power by Trump and his allies.

Four months later, more than seven million people participated in No Kings Day demonstrations on Oct. 18 in cities across all 50 states, according to organizers.
