Moderator Simona Leskovská has become the new face of Markíza TV. The partner of football player Stanislav Lobotka addressed the viewers of Športové noviny for the first time on Wednesday, March 18. The premiere on the screens was not without harsh criticism from Slovaks. An experienced Slovak moderator also gave his opinion to the portal Ján Žgravčák (47).
“I rate her performance very well and positively. It must be remembered that she took on one of the most difficult positions as a presenter. Television Markíza does it in a modern way, which is connected with the movement and emotions of the presenters. With everything that goes with it and how modern reporting is done. I think that considering how difficult such moderating is, she managed it very well,” commented the former STVR sports director.
He added that even if a person has hundreds of hours unmoderated, to stand in a new place, in a new environment and in front of new colleagues is always extremely challenging and stressful.
“About 99% percent of the people who watch this sports coverage would never make it. I stand by that. So she did a great job and I have nothing to complain about. It was the first broadcast for her, and after 15 years, she might laugh at it herself at what it was like for the first time. She managed it brilliantly and it’s a great move by Markíza,” thinks Žgravčák, who has recently withdrawn from television screens.
In the comments on social networks, viewers of Markíza criticized her for saying the name of the football club Manchester City in the first broadcast. It absolutely cut their ears. “Manager?” Robo wondered. “Maybe she’s smart and clever, but to me it looks like an AI video – artificial. It’s fine for a show about fashion,” Vlasta shared her opinion.
“And that neckline doesn’t fit at all! Let her take that to the cinema, Rose for the Bride, it fits there!” she launched herself sharply into the new marquis Katarína. “Unnatural and overly affected, pure disaster. The marquise has gone completely mad,” evaluated Mária.
The opinion of Žgravčák and many viewers about Leskovská’s performance is different, but he grounded all the haters with his statement. “I won’t give a message to the critics, but I will give a message to Simon. The advice I’ve followed throughout my professional career, for 30 years now, is to only take criticism from those who know how to do it better than you. If anyone can criticize it, it’s only people who have moderated something.” declared the experienced moderator.
