The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they are close to reaching the main targets defined as strategic in Iran. According to the forces’ international spokesman, Nadav Shoshani, the expectation is to conclude the highest priority phase of operations in the coming days.
According to Shoshani, military objectives are organized into categories, which include ballistic missiles, weapons production, nuclear facilities, and command and control structures. Within these groups, there are also priority levels that guide the actions of Israeli forces.
The spokesperson indicated that the immediate focus is on industrial capacity linked to weapons production. “We will be able to achieve the main priorities in a few days,” he said. He stressed, however, that this does not mean the total exhaustion of targets, as new actions may depend on operational conditions.
In recent days, Israel has increased attacks on infrastructure considered sensitive. Among the targets hit are two steel plants, one of them associated with the use of radioactive material, according to information from the UN nuclear agency.
A heavy water facility in Arak, considered strategic for plutonium production, was also targeted. According to the IDF, the structure had already been attacked previously, but there were signs of reconstruction, which motivated a new offensive.
