Businessman Márcio Vaccaro, CEO of a business group from Santa Catarina, died this Saturday, 28, at the age of 60, in a motorcycle accident in Argentina.
The Brazilian led the Vaccaro Group, a conglomerate that owned companies that operated in different economic sectors, such as agribusiness, food supplements and real estate developments.
Based in the municipality of Xaxim, in the west of Santa Catarina, the group ran the companies Rafitec, packaging and agricultural inputs; Nutrata, from nutritional supplements; Vaccaro Urbanismo, from the real estate sector, and Vaccaro Energia.
The businessman’s death was announced on the social networks of the group’s companies: “It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Márcio Vaccaro, founder and CEO of the Vaccaro Group. […] A visionary businessman and respected leader, Márcio has built a trajectory marked by work, purpose and significant contribution to urban and social development”, Rafitec published on its Instagram.
The company was founded in 1995 by Márcio and his father, Eloy Vaccaro (died in 2021), in Xanxerê, another municipality in western Santa Catarina.
Information about the circumstances of the death was released by Xanxerê City Hall. The municipal administration stated that the accident occurred “during a motorcycle ride in Argentina” and expressed solidarity with the family and friends for their loss. Xaxim City Hall declared an official three-day mourning period and declared that the businessman “contributed significantly to the development of Xaxim and the region, leaving his mark through work, entrepreneurship and commitment to the community”.

Chapecó City Hall, where one of the group’s companies developed projects such as the Pulse Open Mall shopping mall, also declared an official three-day mourning period.
No other details about the accident or information about the wake were released.
