Club seeks agreement with aviation company to guarantee 30 to 35 flights with aircraft based in Rio
The president of Flamengo, , stated that the club is negotiating the rental of an exclusive plane for the team’s travel in 2026. The information was released on Friday (27.mar.2026) during an interview with Mengocast, a podcast from Flamengo TV. The agreement guarantees 30 to 35 flights with an aviation company.
The plane would be based in Rio and would only take off when Rubro-Negro needed to travel outside the city. The proposed model allows the aircraft to provide services to other clubs when Flamengo is in Rio.
“We will guarantee 30/35 flights with one company. If everything goes well, this aircraft will stay on the ground in Rio and only take off when we want. This aircraft could provide services to other clubs. For Flamengo it is cheaper and convenient for everyone”said Bap.
The initiative seeks to resolve logistical problems caused by the concentrated calendar of 2026. The World Cup will cause a pause in national football. Competitions will be concentrated in specific periods of the year.
The president explained that the club seeks to avoid the strain of adapting to the national and international air network. The aircraft would be available on the day and time desired by Flamengo.
“When Flamengo is in Rio, the aircraft would be on the ground and could fly with other clubs. What Flamengo is buying is to have the aircraft on the ground on the day and at the time we want to fly. The club did not disclose which aviation company is participating in the negotiations. No rental values or deadline for concluding the agreement were revealed either.
