“Brazil will not be a colony”, says Lindbergh when responding to Flávio Bolsonaro’s speech

"Brasil não será colônia", diz Lindbergh ao rebater fala de Flávio

The war of narratives between the government and the opposition gained a new and explosive chapter in a video published this Sunday (29). The federal deputy reacted vehemently to Senator Flávio Bolsonaro’s speech, made in the United States, accusing the Bolsonaro clan of trying to “sell” the country. According to the PT parliamentarian, Flávio’s speeches about the delivery of critical minerals and the search for international pressure on Brazil are attempts to transform the nation into foreign submission.

“The Bolsonaro family wants to transform Brazil into a North American colony,” said Lindbergh in the recording circulating on social media. The deputy was referring to the offer made by Flávio that Brazil replace China in the supply of rare earths to the USA. For Lindbergh, this stance violates national sovereignty and ignores the interests of the Brazilian people in favor of external interests.

Focus on 2026

The parliamentarian took advantage of the controversy to project the 2026 electoral scenario, transforming the debate on minerals into a thermometer for the next presidential race. Lindbergh was categorical in stating that the opposition’s plans to align Brazil unconditionally with Washington will not materialize. “This will not happen because Lula will be re-elected”, said the deputy, in reference to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Lindbergh’s speech comes at a time when minister Gleisi Hoffmann and minister Guilherme Boulos also spoke out against Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro’s stance on American soil. The clash makes it clear that the exploration of strategic minerals and foreign policy will be central axes of confrontation between the right and the left in the coming years, with Acre and the Amazon rich in natural resources at the center of this geopolitical board.
