Trump says he plans to tell everyone “how great he is” in address to the nation

US President Donald Trump briefly previewed the speech he will give to the nation this Wednesday (1st), during an Easter lunch at the White House, telling the audience that he plans to “tell everyone how great I am”.

“Tonight, I’m going to do a , and I’m going to basically tell everyone how great I am, what a great job I did, what a phenomenal job I did,” Trump told those present at the lunch.

“But seriously, if you didn’t have me, if you had a different president, you wouldn’t have Israel,” he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, a White House official told CNN that the president plans to deliver an “operational update” on , which he and senior administration officials say is ahead of schedule.

The luncheon’s remarks were closed to the press, but a video of the comments was published by a Business Insider reporter, who said the White House had uploaded it to its YouTube page. The video was no longer visible on the YouTube page as of early Wednesday evening.

The American president also said that US Vice President JD Vance was working hard to negotiate a deal with Iran.

“And he’s doing a great job, and he’s working on the deal, right? How’s it going? Is everything good?”

“So if it doesn’t happen, it’s JD Vance’s fault. If it happens, it’s all my credit,” Trump said.
