Trump says offensive in Iran is "almost complete" but warns that without agreement energy plants will be hit "hard"

A month after the start of the joint US-Israeli operation against Iran, US President Donald Trump stated that the Iranian regime is “destroyed” and that the war may be close to an end, leaving, however, a warning that without an agreement Iranian plants will be hit “in strength”.

In a speech to the nation, in the early hours of this Thursday, Trump guaranteed that the Military objectives are close to being achieved.

“Never before has an enemy suffered such devastating losses in just a few weeks. We are winning,” he said.

According to the president, Iran’s military capabilities have been severely affected.

“We have already done everything. Their navy has disappeared. Their air force has disappeared. Their missiles are practically exhausted or neutralized,” he declared.

Even so, admitted that the offensive could intensify in the coming weeks, at a time when negotiations take place.

“We are on track to complete all military objectives very soon. We will hit them extremely hard in the next two to three weeks,” he said.

He also made it clear that, without an agreement, Washington could move against critical infrastructure.

“If there is no agreement, we will hit all their energy production plants very hard and probably simultaneously,” he said.

“I did what no President was willing to do”

In the same speech, he highlighted that the Iranian oil sector has not, until now, been the target of attacksdespite considering him one of the easiest targets.

Trump also reiterated that will not allow Iran to develop a nuclear weaponclassifying this scenario as a “intolerable threat”.

For this purposerecalled decisions taken during his mandates, including the order to kill General Soleimani.

“If I had survived, we would have a very different conversation tonight,” he said, adding: “I did what no President was willing to do,” in reference to the end of the nuclear agreement with Iran signed by Barack Obama.

At a time marked by the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the president assured that the United States is prepared to face a possible energy crisis and assured that the country has enough oil.

“We don’t need the oil that comes from the Strait of Hormuz,” he said, adding that to passage should open when the war ends.

He also left a message for countries that depend on that energy route: “Gather courage and take him, protect him. The hard part is already done.”

For those who do not intend to get involved, he pointed out an alternative: “If you don’t want to get involved, I suggest you buy oil from the United States. We have plenty and enough.”
