Russian ‘rapper’ Artyom Borisov, founder of the group Krec, known as ‘Fuze’ and declared “foreign agent” in Russia for his active opposition to the war in Ukraine, he died this Thursday in a car accident, according to his widow, Valentina Berezkina.
“A few hours ago he was in a serious car accident. The doctors did everything they could, but they were unable to save him. I ask that you remember him and respect everything he did for peace,” the widow wrote on social media.
‘Fuze’, aged 46, founded the group Krec in 2011, with which he recorded 15 albums, and launched his solo career in 2013.
He is especially known for composing and performing the soundtrack for the film “Piter FM”where his song “Ternura” was a hit.
In March 2025, the Russian Ministry of Justice added him to the register of “foreign agents” – a designation that implies various restrictions and sanctions for those targeted -, claiming that it disclosed information about “undesirable organizations” not country.
The ministry later rejected the musician’s appeal, arguing that this had “publicly condemned” the war in Ukraine and participated in charitable campaigns in support of Ukrainian refugees.
