The government of President Luiz Inácio da Silva () announced this Tuesday (31) who will be the new ministers who will take up positions in the Esplanada after the departure of the incumbents who will be candidates for those in October.
The list, however, remains unclear as to who will replace Geraldo Alckmin () in the Mdic (Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services), and (PT) in the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, who will compete for Paraná.
Both this Tuesday and the day before, Gleisi confirmed to journalists that his succession remains undefined. Lula withdrew from (Council for Sustainable Economic and Social Development), Olavo Noleto, after reservations from Congressional leaders of his choice.
According to Sheetthe Minister of Entrepreneurship, (), must take Alckmin’s place, as a result of a maneuver by Lula to remove him from this year’s election and consolidate his platform around the candidacy for governor of (PT).
France’s place in Entrepreneurship should go to Márcio Elias, who currently occupies the Mdic’s executive secretary. Gleisi’s successor has not yet been defined.
The Palácio do Planalto informed 14 names that will take over as ministers – most of them already occupy the role of number 2 in the portfolio they will command. In the Civil House, for example, executive secretary Miriam Belchior will replace (PT), who leaves to compete for the Senate in Bahia.
Other confirmed names include Bruno Moretti, special secretary for Government Analysis at the Civil House, who will go to the Ministry of Planning and Budget in place of Simone Tebet (MDB), and João Paulo Capobianco, number 2 for Marina Silva (Rede). The two must run for the Senate for SP.
At the (Ministry of ), executive secretary Leonardo Barchini with the departure of , who will dedicate himself to Lula’s campaign or the election in Ceará.
There are also other cases of exchanges between heads of ministries. André de Paula (Aquaculture and Fisheries), for example, will occupy the seat of Cárlos Faváro (Agriculture and Livestock), from the PSD, who is another member of the government who will seek the Senate, in this case, in Mato Grosso.
The names were made official while Lula’s ministerial meeting was being held. In his opening speech, the president stated that he decided to place people who already work in ministries to avoid a “standstill” of work.
“We have a machine that has been working for three years and three months. I don’t want any ministry to start all over again. There is no new government plan. We have a lot to complete by December 31st, and the obligation of those who remain is to complete it,” he said.
In total, the positions due to the elections, among those who will run for public office, reassignments to other portfolios and activities in the president’s campaign. The official deadline for non-compliance ends on Saturday (4), but the majority must announce their departure before this date.
