The deadline to issue the first electoral document or regularize the document for the 2026 elections ends on May 6th. The date is also a limit for those who wish to transfer the title to another city, change the voting location or .
Voting is mandatory for people over 18 and optional for illiterate people, people over 70 and young people aged 16 and 17. Anyone who turns 18 between the dates of the 1st and 2nd round is obliged to vote in the 2nd round.
Teenagers aged 15 can also issue their first document, but will only have the option to vote if they turn 16 by the date of the election.
In these elections, the 1st round will be held on October 4th, and the eventual 2nd round, on the 25th of the same month. The positions of federal deputy, state deputy, senator (1st and 2nd vacancy), governor and president of the Republic are up for grabs.

How to issue or regularize the title
The order can be made free of charge in two ways:
However, anyone who does not yet have their biometrics registered must collect their fingerprints in person. This is the case for those who are getting their title for the first time or those who last registered or used biometrics more than ten years ago.
For those who need to collect biometrics, the TSE recommends submitting the application online by April 6 to ensure enough time to go to the registry office and complete the service.
Documents to issue the title

proof of discharge from military service (for men who turn 19 in the year they apply for the title);

How to check title status and biometrics
On the page, choose option 6: “Check the status of your title, your biometric identification and compliance with electoral obligations in the last elections”.
It is necessary to inform the title number, CPF or name of the voter with date of birth.
How to transfer title or change polling location
If the voter wishes to choose a new voting location within their current municipality (for residents in Brazil or abroad), simply access the TSE website and select the option “Change your voting location”. The request can also be made in person at an electoral office.
To request a transfer of residence, the voter must:

resides in the new municipality for at least three months;

have not, in the 12 months prior to the request, obtained their first voter registration card or made another transfer of electoral domicile;

present proof of recent residence and an official identification document with photo.
If the change of residence is to another country, it is necessary to present the same documents at the headquarters of the Brazilian embassy or consular office linked to the location of the new address. Voters registered abroad can only vote in elections for President of the Republic.

Electoral fines resulting from absence from the polls or electoral work can also be paid by , through the App or at the electoral registry, using a bank slip, Pix or credit card.
Voters who had their registration canceled after failing to attend three consecutive elections can also regularize their situation after paying the fines.
