Lula chooses ministers of Development and Entrepreneurship; see who they are

Exchanges on the Esplanada take place amid the dismissal of 16 heads of Ministries who are considering contesting the next elections

President Lula (PT) appointed Márcio Fernando Elias Rosaformer executive secretary of the department, for the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) and Francisco Tadeu Barbosa de Alencarformer executive secretary of the department, for the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Microenterprise and Small Business. The nominations were published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Friday (3).

They arrive to replace Geraldo Alckminwho will run again for vice president, and Márcio Françawho will compete for a position in São Paulo. The choices for command of the two portfolios occur at a time when the federal government is making changes to its team. In all, of their positions.

The departure of the ministers meets the electoral legislation. They leave the government to meet the deadline established by the Electoral Court, as they are considering launching candidacies to contest the elections.

  1. Carlos Fávaro (PSD) left the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock to run for government of Mato Grosso, replaced by former Minister of Fisheries André de Paula;
  2. Paulo Teixeira (PT) left the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming to run for federal deputy for São Paulo, he was replaced by Fernanda Machiaveli, then executive secretary;
  3. Macaé Evaristo (PT) left the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship to run for state deputy for Minas Gerais and was replaced by Janine Mello dos Santos, then executive secretary;
  4. André Fufuca (PP) left the Ministry of Sports to run for the Senate in Maranhão and was replaced by Paulo Henrique Cordeiro Perna, then national secretary of Amateur Sports, Education, Leisure and Social Inclusion;
  5. Sonia Guajajara (PSOL) left the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples to possibly run for re-election as federal deputy for São Paulo, being replaced by Eloy Terena, its former executive secretary;
  6. Simone Tebet (recently affiliated to the PSB, after years in the MDB) was dismissed from the Ministry of Planning and Budget to run for a position in São Paulo, after a recent change of electoral domicile, being replaced by Bruno Moretti, who was special secretary of Government Analysis at the Civil House;
  7. Silvio Costa Filho (Republicans) left the Ministry of Ports and Airports to run for federal deputy for Pernambuco and was succeeded by Tomé Franca, then executive secretary;
  8. Marina Silva (Rede, in the process of party migration) left the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change to run for a yet to be defined position in São Paulo. She was replaced by her former executive secretary, Paulo Capobianco;
  9. Renan Filho (MDB) left the Ministry of Transport to run for government of Alagoas and was succeeded by George Santoro, former executive secretary;
  10. Rui Costa (PT) left the Civil House to run for the Senate in Bahia, replaced by his former executive secretary, Miriam Belchior;
  11. Jader Filho (MDB), a possible pre-candidate for federal deputy for Pará, left the Ministry of Cities and was replaced by Antônio Vladimir Lima, former executive secretary;
  12. Camilo Santana (PT) left the Ministry of Education, without a defined candidacy yet, and was replaced by Leonardo Barchini, former executive secretary;
  13. Anielle Franco (PT) left the Ministry of Racial Equality to run for federal deputy for Rio de Janeiro, replaced by Rachel Barros de Oliveira, former executive secretary;
  14. Márcio França (PSB) left the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Micro Business and Small Business to run for a position in São Paulo, replaced by Francisco Tadeu Barbosa de Alencar, former executive secretary;
  15. Geraldo Alckmin he was dismissed from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) to run again for vice president, replaced by Márcio Fernando Elias Rosa, former executive secretary;
  16. Hoffmann’s blues (PT) was dismissed from the Secretariat of Institutional Relations (SRI) to run for the Senate in Paraná, but has not yet been replaced by another incumbent.

Some application definitions may still change. According to the electoral calendar, parties and federations must carry out their party conventions from July 20th to August 5thaimed at defining coalitions and choosing candidates who will compete for positions of president e vice president of the Republic, governor e lieutenant governor, senator e respective substitutesas well as the positions of federal deputy, state e district in the 2026 elections. Candidacy registration requests must be submitted to the Electoral Court by August 15.
