Born in Seville, Spain, YouTuber Rodrigo Soriano published a video last Wednesday (1) showing his experience at Arena MRV, in Belo Horizonte, in the match between Atlético and Inter, in the fifth round of the Brazilian Championship. The Spaniard was delighted with what he saw and experienced in the capital of Minas Gerais on March 11th.
“From the outside, it is, without a doubt, the stadium that caught my attention the most. It is huge, gigantic, with all the colors and decorations. The lights around it give a special touch to the night. Everything around the stadium is impeccable. This stadium seems to me the best I have ever seen. If this stadium belonged to my team, I would be proud,” Soriano said in the video.
“I have to say, from what I’ve seen, it’s one of the best stadiums I’ve ever seen, because you can see the entire field phenomenally, even from the back rows. Everything looks beautiful. It’s literally one of those stadiums with such a steep slope that you can see everything without being too far away and enjoy the game three times more. It’s a really incredible stadium,” he added.
Another highlight made by the YouTuber was the presence of Hulk, on the pitch.
“I’m looking at the player in front of me, he’s one of Atlético Mineiro’s greatest legends. He’s none other than Hulk. Just seeing him moves me, because, if nothing else, it’s the aura and presence that this player imposes”, he stated.
Atlético fans’ behavior
Although he was surprised by the beauty of the stadium, the low attendance also caught the Spaniard’s attention. The next one was after Atletica’s defeat to rival Cruzeiro in the final of the Campeonato Mineiro. Therefore, the MRV Arena hosted its Alvinegro games: 10,132 fans. Even so, Rodrigo Sorianose was surprised by the enthusiasm of the fans present.
“I must say that I was a little disappointed at the beginning of the match when they told me that instead of 45 thousand, just ten thousand, I thought: ‘None of them are going to sing. They are going to be more or less booing the team because they are not playing well’, and then I arrived here and I am struck by the passion, they haven’t stopped during the 90 minutes. They are one of those fans, along with Grêmio I would say. They didn’t stop for a single minute during the 90 minutes. People moving around one side to the other, and we survived, which is no small feat”, he concluded.
