Document points out chronic pain and limited movement; Former president may undergo new surgery
The defense of the former president (PL) registered in the system (Supreme Federal Court), this Friday (April 3, 2026), new documents about your health status. Physiotherapy report delivered to Minister Alexandre de Moraes informs that the former head of state suffers from chronic and severe pain in his shoulder – without specifying which one – and that, therefore, he must undergo new surgery there soon. Here’s the of the report (PDF – 2 Mb).
Physiotherapist Kleber Antônio Caiado de Freitas signs the report and describes that the former president has reduced movement, chronic pain, a difference in the height of his right and left shoulders and changes in muscle tone in the region.
Bolsonaro has been undergoing – and should continue – physiotherapy to control the pain. It goes through sessions aimed at analgesia, muscle relaxation and mobilization within the patient’s tolerance limits, informs the physiotherapist.
The document points out that the condition, associated with complementary exams already carried out, justifies the indication of surgical intervention.
“It is concluded that the patient is in the pre-operative phase, with significant pain and significant functional limitation of the affected upper limb, which, at the moment, restricts the progression to more active physiotherapeutic interventions.”, states the report signed by Kleber.
The report was written on April 2, 2026 and considers assessments carried out on March 26 and 31. The first took place in a hospital environment, at the DF Star hospital, in Brasília, when the former president was ill.
Bolsonaro the DF Star on March 27, after 14 days in hospital with bilateral bacterial bronchopneumonia, considered serious by his doctors and the most severe of the 3 he has ever had. That same day, he arrived at the Solar de Brasília condominium, in Jardim Botânico (DF), an upscale area of the capital, to begin the 90-day house arrest authorized by Minister Moraes.
