Netanyahu says he destroyed 70% of Iran’s steel production

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated this Saturday (4), in a post on his Telegram channel, that . According to him, the action comes after the country has already destroyed a large part of Iran’s steel production capacity, used as raw material for weapons.

“I promised you that we would continue to crush the terrorist regime in Tehran, and that is exactly what we are doing. After destroying 70% of their capacity to produce steel, which serves as the raw material for their weapons, today we hit their petrochemical plants,” said Netanyahu.

Iranian state media reported that the attacks took place in a petrochemical zone in the southwest of the country, leaving five people injured. The fire was later brought under control.

According to an Israeli military spokesman, the affected plant produced materials used in the manufacture of explosives and missiles.

Israel is also preparing to attack others, but is awaiting approval from the United States, a senior Israeli defense official said on Saturday (4), adding that any such action would likely take place next week.

The comments come after US President Donald Trump issued , increasing attention on whether Washington would support a new Israeli military offensive against Iran.
